Unable to boot or read.. the CD io led flashes once or flashes continously
but the cd rom drive never spins up.. and this happens with both the Dell
Laptop OS disk and a new MS windows XP upgrade cd (from windows 98 etc..)...
so I don't think it is checking the serial number etc..
