Unable to reinstall Intranet component

After a very long and painful couple of weeks of working to get Project
Server 2003 running on our SBS system and finally resorting to calling MS
tech support, a series rather abrupt changes were made to the system that got
Project Server working but broke the monitoring and intranet components of
SBS. Unfortunately, we didn't sufficiently understand the changes being made
by the tech support folks and are not clear about exactly what was done to
break the SBS side of things. To add insult to injury, this past weekend
another admin tried installing SBS SP1 and the first four components
installed correctly but the install hung up on component #5 (the SBS SP1
install). As we looked into what seemed to be causing the SP1 install to
fail, we realized that the broken monitoring and intranet components appeared
to be the problem.

I have been able to get the monitoring component uninstalled / reinstalled
and working again, but have not had any luck with the intranet component. I
have followed the instructions in Article 829114 (How to remove and how to
install the Windows Small Business Server 2003 SharePoint Services companyweb
Web site) to no avail. I have also installed software update 832880 but it
didn't help matters any.

The reinstall of the intranet component seems to be failing with the errors
"Intranet: [2] HrDeleteMSDEShortCut failed in CClientX:oInstall setup
continuable. hr= [80070002]" followed by "Intranet: [2] Failed to grant db
rights to sts worker" so I am afraid that something that was done with MSDE /
SQL Server in the attempts to get Project Server working is the problem but I
am at a complete loss at this point.

The system is running SBS 2003 Premium with the first four SBS SP1
components installed and at least part of the fifth component installed as
indicated by the SBS reconfigure option in Add/Remove programs insisting on
using a version of the CDs with service packs present. The system is also
still running ISA 2000. It has SQL Server 2000 installed and SharePoint has
been upgraded to use SQL Server 2000 instead of MSDE 2000 (this was done by
the tech folks to get Project Server working).

The setup.log, eventlog.txt and errorlog.txt files from my most recent
attempt to install follow. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.

From your description, I understand the issue to be: the Intranet component
can not work properly after installed the Project server on the SBS server
box. If I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

For the Intranet issue happens when the project server is installed the
server box. I would like to suggest you still call the MS tech support
engineer to help you resolve the issue. They know your situation clearly
