Unable to Revert back to ActiveSync 3.8

I installed ActiveSync 4.1 without realizing that it does not work properly
with PPC 2002. I unstalled the program and tried to re-install 3.8 and
Windows keeps telling me that I have a newer version of ActiveSync
installed.

I'm guessing that it's still seeing something in the registry. Anyone have a
solution? I don't want to have to reinstall Windows just to get ActiveSync
working.

Hi Chris,

To uninstall ActiveSync 4.x and reinstall a previous version of ActiveSync
on your computer---

1. Uninstall ActiveSync 4.x.
2. Go to Start -> Run and type:

%systemroot%\System32

Click Ok or enter.

3. Then manually delete the dynamic-link library Rapi.dll and ceutil.dll

4. Reinstall the previous version of ActiveSync.

In your case, uninstall 3.8 and proceed to follow from #2. ActiveSync 4.x
should be installed only if you have a Windows Mobile 5.0 device.
