We are trying to test applications that make extensive use of DCOM and COM+
on Vista RC1 Business Edition. We need to be able to make changes to DOM
settings and COM+ packages. We normally make these changes in Component
Services. Unfortunately we are unable to run Component Services on any of
our installations. We are using build number 5600. We've tried adding the
stap-in under MMC, as well as running comexp.msc and dcomcnfg.exe from the
run menu. When we run from MMC the MMC window just disappears. Whenwe use
the run menu we just get a bit of a flash then nothing. The event viewer has
the following message:
--------
A condition has occurred that indicates this COM+ application is in an
unstable state or is not functioning correctly. Assertion Failure: !"NOT_S_OK"
Process Name: mmc.exe
The serious nature of this error has caused the process to terminate.
COM+ Services Internals Information:

The computers all have at least a gig of RAM and Pentium 4/2+ Ghz
processsors. Any suggestions are appreciated.
