Unable to save downloads

Hello all,

First I apologize if I have broached this in the wrong forum. I am a brand
new Vista user, as of Tuesday. I just got a new laptop with Vista Home
Premium. It is Duo Core 2ghz, 2gb of ram, and 100gb hd. I am the
administrator and only user.

I have been trying to download and save trial software from Adobe's site.
When I try to direct the d/l to my choice for a folder, I get a message that
says I am unable to say it to anything but the admin (temporary internet)
subfolder under the User folder. Then when the d/l is complete I get only
the option of running the file or canceling the run operation. When I choose
cancel, it closes the window and the download gets deleted without an
opportunity to save it.

I am most certain this is a Vista challenge and not an Adobe one, as on
another pc, XP Pro, I have no problem with the Adobe site. Any suggestions
was to why I can't save it to my own choice of a folder and what a fix might
be?

Thanks in advance

Go to Control Panel and Users icon. Turn off User Account Control. What
browser are you using, Try Firefox. It got a better download.

Hi Ian

Thanks for the reply....will try that this pm. I am using Vista/IE7 on my
laptop, and IE6 on my XP/IE6 on my desktop. I do have Firefox on the XP but
wonder if it works any better on Vista.

Anyway, many thanks.

Firefox rocks on Vista. Better Java support too. Safari Beta isn't too bad
either if you like that whole Apple schtick.
