When you install WLMail, the program will import your mail
accounts from Outlook Express (Win XP) or Windows Mail (Vista).
IImported mail accounts will retain all existing account settings
from OE or Windows Mail.

If you create a new mail account in WLMail, the account will
apply the WLMail default settings. With POP3 servers, the WLMail
default is to "Leave Messages on the server"

Iirc, that default was present in version 12.

To add to Bob's input..which may be important to those using OE for Hotmail via WebDAV
- Hotmail accounts using WebDAV which are imported by WLM during setup or via an *.iaf file retain the WebDAV server, rather than
the recommended DeltaSync server. Retention of that server could be an issue for those who've switched from OE(or OL) to WLM if and
when WebDAV is deprecated.
* Fyi - the last public mention occurred in a KB article mentioning WebDAV would be deprecated but no sooner than Jan 2009.
That was almost 5 months ago. With pop3 now available for all Hotmail accounts, WLM and OLC connector capable of DeltaSync, partner
accounts pushing WLM and/or providing pop3 via Live.com or their own server then WebDAV capability would seem to be on a very short
leash. Anyone using WebDAV in WLM should update the account settings to use the DeltaSync server.

My usual response to posts like yours is 'Press F1', which you
should have done six days ago. Did you?

It seems to be the luck of the draw as whether one gets a reliable
Hotmail HTTP server bay or not. I don't know of another explanation
why some Live account users see so many DeltaSync server errors in WLM.

I guess it could mean that since an account can be provisioned for Pop3 and DeltaSync and also for grandfathered Hotmail
accounts(WebDAV), that some limit could be in place on the total number of accounts accessing through one protocol while still
being capable of accessing using another. Yet, this reasoning falls apart if a logoff of one protocol permits another account to
access the same route.
