I get the following error message when sync email:
The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'Fw: Ski Trip'
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10060

I have tried checking SSL to see if this woule correct the problem but is
has not.

Any help would be appreciated

David

I don't know why checking SSL would be appropriate. According to the error
message, (that seems to lack a little info), SSL was checked before /this/
error message appeared. Uncheck it.

I believe that you need to adjust your account settings. These are for
Outlook Express, but should be what you are using in WLMail as well.

Change the SMTP port from 25 to 587 and make sure: My Server Requires
Authentication is checked.

How do I set up/configure Outlook Express for Comcast email?

I tried changing the SMTP port to 587 and I then got a box asking for my SMTP
username and password and when I put that in, the box kept re appearing in a
continuous cycle, never advancing. I did check in my account settings that
my out going password was the same as my inbound password.

Outgoing and inbound password? Do you mean your SMTP and POP settings? They
should /not/ be the same. Review the link, or call Comcast tech support.

There is no need to have a separate SMTP password.

When you get that password prompt click Cancel, then copy the resulting
error message and post it here.

After I get the password prompt and click cancel I do not get any specific
error message.
The original error messsage I got is as follows

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'Fw: Ski Trip'
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10060

Any help would be appreciated

Read the entire article here. Change the SMTP port to 587 and make sure: My
Server Requires Authentication is checked. Yes. WLMail should be using the
same settings as OE.
