The 'fluff' part of the error message (the first paragraph) is an incorrect
interpretation of the second (technical) part.
The server is saying that the mailbox is locked. This is either a temporary
server malfunction, or else the user is checking her mail too frequently,
causing the mailbox to 'hang'. The checking interval should not be shorter than
5 minutes.

I have a client who is receiving the following error message when
attempting to send or receive emails through her phone:

MESSAGES, YOU'LL BE ASKED TO ENTER YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD FOR THIS
ACCOUNT.

SERVER RESPONSE: -ERR YOUR MAILBOX IS ALREADY LOCKED

She has the ability to edit her login and password for her email
address, so it's not that she's actually using an incorrect login or
password. She also spent time on the phone with her cell phone provider,
who insisted that everything was set up correctly on their end and that
she must be using the wrong login and password (not the case). I am at a
loss to explain her issue, even after heavily perusing your forums. Any
advice would be appreciated.
