Ray,
You can only have one synchronization source for your mobile device.
If you are synchronizing your device with Exchange then the device will get
PIM data from it. If you then connect that device to your PC (standalone)
you will not be able sync the data as the device is looking for its PIM
information to come from Exchange. Likewise, when you connect your device
to your standalone PC, Outlook doesn't recognize the device as a valid
source for PIM data as it sees it is synching with an Exchange server.
