I had an integrated installation of Windows XP Pro and service pack 2 beta. I
got this when I ran winver:version 5.1(Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rc1.040311-2315 :
Service Pack 2,v.20. When I tried to update to the full version of XP SP2
from the Windows Update website, I got Error Code: 8007F0DF. How can I
resolve this problem and install the final release of service pack 2? Can I
uninstall the beta version of service pack 2 which is part of an integrated
installation?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi

No, that is not possible. A format/clean install is needed in this case.

What do you mean by a clean install? The beta version of service pack 2 is
integrated with Windows XP on my cd. Will reinstalling with this cd solve the
problem?

Hi

No, you cannot use that CD, you will need to use an CD that does not
have a beta version of SP2 integrated (slipstreamed). Use an WinXP CD
that have SP0 (a.k.a. no SP), SP1 or preferably the final SP2 integrated
(slipstreamed).
