Unable to update SP2

Hello,

When running windows update, I get the following mesage: "The Windows
Service Pack installation did not complete. This system is in an unstable
state. Go to Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs and choose to uninstall
the Service Pack, or contact your system administrator." I would uninstall
the service pack, but when I try, I get a warning that many programs will be
affected by my doing so, and I'm afraid to make things worse.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Usually there are no problems with the listed programs after removal of the
Service Pack.
If you have a problem with a particular program usually a reinstall of the
program resolves the issue.
