Unable to update Win 2k after install of new update

Upon install of Version 5 of Win Update I got the Fatal error 0x800401f3.
This may be the cause of error 0xC8000711 when update is run. When I click on
either experess or custom it searches and comes up with a window with the
above error code. My system is Win 2k pro at SP4 Version 5.00.2195. The
browser is I/E 6 at version 6.0.2800.1106. I have administrator priveliges.
I searched on error 0x800401f3 and found a number of fixes none of which
worked. I replaces the System 32 wu dlls, updated the XML support without
success. Below is an extract of my log arround the error.

Did you miss one? <eg>


Also reference to muweb above makes me think that you have
also switched from Windows Update to Microsoft Update?
Does that mean you are really using WUv6 instead of WUv5?


In any case make sure that you are using HTTP 1.1 protocol

Ignore the restrictive sounding title. The same resolution would
apply to your OS too.

BTW notice the URLs mentioned in the article. They might help
clarify what update services you are really using.
