It doesn't matter What type of attachment i have, Win Mail will not allow me
to view/open/save attachments. I have installed Office Pro 2007 to no effect.
I have tried all work arounds in this forum but still no joy. Obvious;y
Microsoft don't give a #$%& ..they got our money..thats all they worry about.

I even rang MS tech support only to be told they couldn't help..they hadn't
been trained yet...

I tested saving a JPG attachment in Windows Mail, which succeeded simply
by clicking its name in the header area.

You may have a configuration problem, or another app may be blocking the
save. Also check TOOLS|OPTIONS|SECURITY SETTINGS, if you have not done
so already.

Do you have found a solution yet, because I'm having the same problem?

Greetings

Pieter

Some have reported that Norton Internet Security will cause this problem.
The fix would be to uninstall NIS.

I had this problem with the retail version when I installed AVG, it went
away when I uninstalled AVG. (But I couldn't fix it when it occurred when
using RC1.)

Sorry to hear that AVG can cause this problem. Before this, only
Symantec/Norton and McAfee products were on my bad actor list.

Hi, I am running Vista with AVG 7.5 free edition and all WAS fine, all of a
sudden I can now not open any attachments either, HELP I have also lost the
top bar with the windows close option on it.

Been looking everywhere for help but nothing yet.

Thanks

Big G

Make sure that email scanning in AVG is turned off and that the email plugin
is disabled. This will not decrease your protection at all.
