unable to view yahoo & vice versa

Anyone else experiencing being unable to see your yahoo contacts in live
messenger or they not being able to see you either? I am using the 8.1 beta.

you need to sign up to see yahoo contacts. go to ideas.live.com and select
windows live messenger beta. make sure there is a Y! icon in the opening
page in the middle. click sign-up. Wola!!

Actually this feature actually shipped, it's not longer a "beta" and you don't have to go
through this process.
