I installed Windows XP on an empty (reformatted) 6GB hard drive, installed
MS Office 2000, the MS Office updates, and then installed all the Windows
updates, service pack 2 included.
After doing that the hard drive seems to have only a little over 2GB of
space left (that's what it says when I check its properties, in MyComputer).
However, the Windows folder occupies only 2.2GB, and when I sum up the sizes
all the existing folders (no hiddens ones), I should have rougly 3.4GB of
space left.
Did any one encounter this strange phenomenon? How can I get the space the
back? How come there is a discrepancy between the occupied drive space as
per 'MyComputer' and the occupied drive space when I look at all the
contents?
Please help! I cannot account for 1.4GB, on an already very small drive!
