Hello,
While partitioning my hard drive of 250GB (7.44gb EISA configuration + C
Drive), I got 40GB(E+50GB(D+19.74GB(UNALLOCATED)+rest on C drive.

I am using Vista OS.
My questions are:
1. How do I get 19.74gb back to allocated?
2. Is it not possible to have as many partition as i wish? If not, how many
partition i can have on a system?

Thanks.
Samalendu.

Hello Samalendu,

You can only have up to 4 normal partitions on a hard drive using Disk
Management in Vista.

If you want to use the D: 19.74GB partition by itself, then this may
help you.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/95...partition.html

If you wanted to extend C: into the D: partition to put the space back
on C: , then this may help you instead.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Go to disk manager and format that partition!
You're allowed up to 4 per hard disk.

I'm assuming you chose NTFS file structure?

What is a "normal" partition?

You can have up to 4 **primary* partitions on a hard drive.

You can have 3 primary partitions and one extended partition (a type of
primary partition). Within this extended partition you can create many
additional **LOGICAL** partitions.

All of the above are NORMAL partitions.

Just because drive manager within Vista only creates primary partitions does
not make them the only normal partition!
