unavailable desktop?

The other day I started my computer and got this message

C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a locatio
that is not available. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, o
on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, o
that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then tr
again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have bee
moved to a different location

And Vista looked like a really old version of Windows. Wtf

So I restarted and everything has been fine since. Just curious abou
what happened

Same problem as...?

"ureader" is not meant for true newsgroup interactivity - you likley should

Wow - August 2008 - approaching 2+ years old, one person posting, no
responses... What was it you were hoping to gain by tacking onto that post?

Have you Googled for this? I recently had and there were many suggestions.
Having no idea what Windows Vista you are running (edition, architecture,
service pack level, etc) and what you have tried - many will hesitate to
offer assistance. Perhaps if you provided some information relevant to
*your* specific machine and issues...?
