Underlined start menu search results - how do I remove

It may seem trivial, but on one of my Vista (32bit) machines, when I
type into the start menu search box, i.e. just press the windows key and
start typing, the search results menu has every item underlined - it
looks ugly.

On my newer machine it doesn't.

I use the search thing all the time, typing the first few letters of the
program I want to start. And I think this has only happened recently.

Does anyone know if I have tripped a setting somewhere - how to turn it off?
