unexpected shutdown

my computer is going off when my Pc is being scaned for viruses with windows
defender and at the same time i am trying to update my computer is that the
case of my computer restarting or is it not?????

Is the system rebootin or just shutting down ?
Windows Defender is NOT an antivirus solution. Is there antivirus
software installed ?

Two places to check for error messages:
1) Open the Event Viewer and check the System event log -
*Right* click My Computer either on the Desktop or the Start Menu and
choose Manage
Click the plus sign next to Event Viewer
Click on System in the left frame
Look for events with an Error in the right frame

2) Open the WindowsUpdate.log
Start > Run > type or copy&paste the below into the Open: line and then
click OK or press Enter

%windir%\windowsupdate.log

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the log for the most recent entries.
Work your way back up until you find FATAL or WARNING entries.

Post back with the most recent FATAL and/or WARNING entries.
Please include the errors just before and/or just after each entry.
