uninstall files eating all my disk space

I have a problem in that the uninstall folders for my Windows Update are
rapidly consuming all my disk space. I am currently going in and deleting
the folders, but would prefer a better solution. Surely there is some way to
either specify that I don't want the uninstall option, or at least redirect
the uninstall folders to a non system volume?
Thanks!
