I am usinf the English version of Windows Vista Ultimate and some months ago
I have downloaded and installed the Greek and portoguese language packs. I
have never used them so I decided to uninstall them in order to install Vista
SP1.

Unfortunatelly although the uninstallation process starts it never completes.

I have also tried the hotfix mentioned in another post with no success.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

go back in time via System Recovery. If that isn't possible format and
reinstall the vista OS.

I have followed the procedure you describe. The problem is that it does not
work, in my case.

Thanks

I was hoping for something less radical. If all the problems are solved in
this way then there is no reason to pay money for software.

If you are still having trouble removing the language packs, try
disabling UAC, disable system restore, stop the windows update service,
delete the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, reboot, and then do
this:
http://blogs.msdn.com/andrekl/archiv...rver-2008.aspx

Then run lpksetup and remove each language pack one at a time. It
worked for me!
