I would like to go back using windows update. When I select Windows Update IE
will go to Microsoft Update. In Windows components or Add/Remove Software,
there is no entry to remove Microsoft Update. How can I go back and use
Windows Update after installing Microsoft Update?

Go to the Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles - KB901037 and KB901260. These
may help solve your problem. In my case I still had a link to WU in
Favorites and I had not installed MU. Very inconsiderate of MS to have
removed WU from the side bar of MSN home page..... Hope this helps you.

Wolfi,

Fear not, here's some possibly useful advice from :

How to enable and to disable Microsoft Update
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/901037/

" To disable Microsoft Update
To disable Microsoft Update and revert to using Windows Update, follow
these steps:
1. On the Microsoft Update site, click Change Settings.
2. Scroll down the page, click to select the Disable Microsoft Update
software and let me use Windows Update only check box, and then click
Apply changes now.
3. You receive the following message:
Windows Automatic Updates will not be able to deliver updates from
Microsoft Update Service.

Are you sure you want to continue?
Click Yes.
Make sure that you see the confirmation page that states that you have
successfully disabled the Microsoft Update software on the computer. "

Give it a go ...
