Edit 'boot.ini' in the root of the C:\ drive to remove the entry for the
second OS and then just delete the WINDOWS directory (whilst booted to the
restored OS of course). This is assuming that the OS folder you want to keep
is WINNT.
'boot.ini' is a system hidden protected file but is a text format so you'll
need to use Windows Explorer and tell it to show you these files:
Tools | Folder Options | View
Uncheck 'Hide Protected Operating System Files (Recommended)'
And .. this is a newsgroup for Windows Update blah blah blah! Try the
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general NG for further questions.
IMPORTANT: This is information ONLY. You make any changes to your system at
your own risk.

Due to a bad cluster in a critical area I could not
recover and was forced to install a new XP (at
C:\WINDOWS). I was then able to repair the hard drive
error and the original OS at C:\WINNT). Now I have two
OS's and would like to get rid of the last one installed
including all files. There doesn't seem to exist a
vehicle to do this. Anybody know of a clean way to remove
the second OS?
