I had installed IE7 but gave so many problems with websites that work well in
IE6. So, immediately I uninstalled it. This happened more than a month ago,
but later on the owes continue, as I keep discovering that IE6 settings have
NOT been restored fully! There are problems with ftp connections, and
microsofts' own autoupdates FAILS! I believe its' all due to IE7 transition
that I did without knowing what I was getting into - HOT SOUP!

I see on this discussion postings the IE7's FTP problem is quite serious.
But, what can I do to restore back IE6 settings? For eg. my Download Acce
program that does a good job of downloading has stopped working, because its
settings are somehow related inside the Windows XP/IE6 are screwed up! So, I
now can not download anything including any fixes!! So, any windows xp wizard
who knows this bug and how to fix this up, of course without having to
RE-install windows XP.

I've aready tried --
tools->Diagnose connection problems
which produces 12031 error for ftp connection.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Please note - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...t/default.mspx

IE7 questions should be posted to the Internet Explorer General newsgroup as
below -

In your Newsreader:

If you need to use the Web Interface -
