Uninstalling IE8

I ran into a problem after updating from IE7 to IE8. Apparently IE8 beta 2
is not compatible with the latest upgrade of McAfee Security Center. McAfee
refuses to operate properly now. I use Vista Ultimate operating system.

I tried to revert back to IE7 or uninstall IE8. Cannot do either. Under
control panel/programs & features/view installed updates, IE8 is not on the
list for some reason I don't understand. When I right click on the IE icon,
I can choose to restore previous versions. After the list scans and
refreshes, nothing appears.

At this point, I am stuck. Can anyone help me?

Thank you,
regards, Lloyd.

lHi there: i had exact same problem yesterday.I installed the new IE8 and
everything started "sticking" ,slowing down and becoming unresponsive.I
realised Mcafee security centre would not open up.I re-downloaded IE7 to my
desktop as a saved file from microsoft and then proceeded to uninstall
IE8..It should be in your list of programmes but may not be next to your
windows updates. If you cannot find try by clicking on START>My Computer>Local
Disk>Programme files>Internet Explorer. If you find it there it should be
listed in your add/remove programmes for sure. Then just uninstall IE8 if you
manage to see it in add/remove programmes and re-install IE7 from your saved
desktop file. All should be back to normal.... . If you cannot find in
add/remove programes but it is listed in your programmes files folder you may
want to try removing it from there but this is very risky as may effect other
programmes and i would not advise this but maybe tried as a last resort.

See

Do you run a "Registry cleaner" after you'd installed IE8 Beta 2?

No.
But I advise to backup your Favorites:

"How to import and export the Internet Explorer Favorites folder to a 32-bit
version of Windows".
