uninstalling a program from windows vista

The program is a windows xp compatable program that is running on vista but I
want to uninstall it. It won't let uninstall and I get the error message that
it is a windows xp program. How do I get rid of it?

Have you tried to run Uninstaller with Windows XP compatibility mode ?

Same - issue - I have seen enough posts to convince me that there is an
underlying issue here.

Have tried everyones suggestions and so far nothing seems to work. Get the
same error message so I'll kept at it until I find a way to remove it.
