Uninstalling SP2 in safe mode

Hi,
Following a disastrous SP2 install (my system crashes/freezes soon after I
log on) I'm trying to un-install SP2 but in normal mode it crashes too
soon for me to remove it via add/remove programs or spunisnt.exe. I've
tried the system restore method but for some reason it is unable to
successfully restore to a previous date.
The only way I seem to have, is to try doing it in Safe Mode, however when
I run spuninst.exe or via the add/remove I get the following message -

"Bosnian (Latin,Bosnia and Herzegovina) is selected as the language for
standards and formats, or for non-Unicode programs. This language is not
supported prior to Windows XP Service Pack 2. Please see readmesp.htm to
select a different language."

I have no idea why it is picking this up, but the readmesp.htm is no help
and seems to be referring to Win2000 SP2.
Anyone able to help me out?

Thanks in advance,

Steven.

Hello,
Q1: What kind of processor is on this pc? Intel , or AMD? by any chance is this a Intel Prescott processor?

Since you are here in this group, I presume English is your language? and as such, your Win XP is English edition?

Q2: By which method did you get SP2: CD, Win Automatic Updates, or via website at Windows Update?

Review the following resources carefully. Then see if you have exhausted the possibilities there. Do post back.
