Uninstalling the Tablet PC Input Panel

I just built a new desktop computer and installed Vista Ultimate. As soon as
I plugged in my Wacom Graphire tablet Vista installed this Tablet PC Input
Panel, so now it's always hanging out at the edge of my screen and causes
little tool-tips to pop up when ever I type certain keys like Alt, Shift, or
Ctrl. It's annoying and has no use on a desktop computer. I can't take
screenshots anymore without seeing this "Alt" tool-tip in them. Is there any
way to get rid of it?

I have a Wacom Intuos, and I get the Tablet PC stuff when it is plugged in,
but I have not noticed these tooltips. None of the TabletPC things get in
the way. Check out the TabletPC settings in the Start Menu (use search box)
and see if you can disable them there.

Ah, thanks I basically have to go through that panel and everything it links
me to and uncheck every box I see. Not quite as hap-haphazardly as that, but
you get my point.

I had the same problem occur last week. I was traveling and did no
have internet. I went to check my email for flight information and
Windows update wanted to finish. It could not complete since there wa
no internet. When I later restarted my laptop, the tablet input panel
which I had never seen before, was there, and my internal mouse woul
not work. I had not brought an external USB mouse along with me.
Anyway, I am also interested in learning how to uninstall the table
input panel to see if I can get my internal mouse back

I fixed it here is how

(Normal View)
Control Panel>Hardware And Sound>Device Manager>Human Interfac
Devices>IdeaCom HID Touch Screen (PS/2)>(right click) uninstall>restar
(ok

or

(Classic View)
Control Panel>Device Manager>Human Interface Devices>IdeaCom HID Touc
Screen (PS/2)>(right click) uninstall>restart (ok

That is it, my mouse is now working

oh and if it tries to reinstall and a pop-up comes up click restar
later/cancel then delete or uninstall it like before, but tick the bo
and click ok, it should be fully uninstalled and gone

Thank you! That fixed the problem and I have my mouse back. The first
time through it did reinstall the IdeaCom HID Touch Screen. I then read
the rest of your message about disabling and deleting it. I'll have to
see if it comes back again.

This resulted from a Windows update on January 15th. Googling, I saw 3
or 4 complaints of the same thing posted on that day. Is that when
yours happened as well?

This was very similar to a problem with my internal wireless that
happened a year ago and that I still haven't gotten fixed. One day in
November 2007 it stopped working, although all diagnostics say it is
fine. 10 or more hours of phone support from Dell resulted with them
saying I should reinstall Vista, but I have too many things installed so
I just bought a USB wireless card instead. You don't have a fix for
that one, do you?

The mouse uninstalled on the same day as everyone else, yes.

I'm sorry I don't know how to fix your other problem, I might be able
to if I knew the details about that device.
