I am using Vista Ultimate.I just had to get my computer reformated. Now when
I go to reenter the activation code I get the message that the product is
only for upgrade. Microsoft tell me I have to unintall Vista ,then reinstall
Windows XP pro, then try to reinstall Windows Vista.. How do I uninstall
Vista?

Hi John,

This tutorial will show you how to do a clean install with a Upgrade
version of Vista to not have any problems.

Hi John,

You do not need to reinstall XP in order to reinstall the upgrade version of
Vista. Instead, you need to install Vista twice. If you follow the
instructions in my post 'Clean Install Windows Vista Using Upgrade Media' in
the newsgroup 'Windows Vista Installation and setup' (dated 9/21/2007), you
should be able solve your problem.

You're going to need to re-format your hard drive again and then reinstall XP
Pro.

If you've reformatted your hard drive, there's no OS on it to uninstall.
Install XP, then upgrade to Vista.

Have you considered TinyURL.com to keep your links from scrolling off the
page and out the door?

I avoid TinyURL and others similar for the obvious reason the nature
of the site is unknown and I avoid sites unless I have reason know
what to expect.
Someone I do not know posting such a URL on these newsgroups is
insufficient reason to risk compromising a system.

Better that the newsreader configures the entire URL so it is not
broken.
Next best is to piece it together.
A third option, but a very distant third is to use TinyUrl and other
similar objects.
Personally I prefer the broken URL far above TinyUrl or others.

those are my reasons and others share similar reasons.

Hi JJ. I love tinyurl, but I use the link preview feature which will
show me the entire original url then ask if I still want to go to the
site. Helps avoid url spoofing.
