Universal bus controller not in my control panel

I am having problems connecting usb components on my computer, when i went
into my control panel , under device manager, i had no universal bus
controller listed . what do i have to do in order to get it listed as i did
before, this probably happened when i had a recent system crash.

Check the BIOS and verify all USB options.
