Unknown Message Header & Pop3 Error Message

Where in the header does it say unknown? Is that unknown sender?

If it's just some messages, then that's the way the message was sent.
If it's all messages, then something is corrupting your messages as they
download, possibly an anti-spam program or your anti-virus set to scan
e-mail.

As for the server not responding, at Tools (ALT+T), Options, General,
check for new messages every xx minutes set that to at least 10 to 15
minutes or turn the option off. Your mail services POP3 server is
having problems. You are getting the pop-up because you have told WLM
to check for mail and it can't because the server is having problems.

Windows Live Mail:

I will start with 2 problems out of many.

I get messages with unknown in the header. What could be causing this?

I have messages popping up, at what I have now set at 120 seconds, that my
pop3 server has not responded. How do I fix this?

Why does Microsoft think they more about program interfaces than the people
that actually use the programs?

I am sure people like WLM but I do not. I wonder how Microsoft could be
made to realize some people would like an OE6 for Windows 7. I am running
Windows 7 Professional.

You should start by having your PC configured for the correct time zone.
It is currently set for Mountain time (UTC -0700) when it should be set for
Alaska time (UTC -0900).

Whether or not the unknown sender can be fixed depends on the cause.

If it's just some messages, then it's probably the sender, particularly
if its spam. If you look at the message source (Ctrl-F3) and see that
there is no FROM header, then that's the problem. If you can determine
that it's from someone you know, then they likely need to fix the
configuration in their mail program.

Actually I am in Denver right now. The connection seems to be working fine
today. I am still getting some unknown sender and header problems but it
appears this cannot be fixed.

Wrong church and pew..
This is the newsgroup for the Windows Live Mail email client.

You might look in the HP forums or search using Bing or Google.
