Unknown User Account

I noticed a Standard user named "dlbj_IAM" in my Parental Controls and I
didn't create this account. I have a stand alone Vista Premium computer with
wireless connectivity.

The account doesn't show up in "User Accounts" or when I check the users
folder creation in explorer to determine when it was created - there are no
folders created for this user. I would like to determine when this account
was created and if there has been any wireless activity before deleting this
account.

I set parental controls to high and put every restriction I could find on
this account.

I have gone to Admin Tools, Computer Management in hopes to look in Local
Users and Groups but it doesn't exist. Is this something different about
Vista Premium?

First, the 'Local users and groups' component is not included in the Home
Basic or Home Premium versions.

This is strange, I haven't seen a problem like this reported before?

If you open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Users do you see a folder with
this user name?

Has anyone that uses the computer changed a user name in Control Panel?

My 'knee jerk' reaction would be something malicious such as a hacker
gaining access through your wireless connection? Do you have the wireless
connection secured?

Starting from your last question

IE7 is in protected mode. I use Public when using WWAN. There are no files
created in explorer under "Users" reflecting that particular user.

Noone has access to this laptop without my knowing.

The following is a filtered list of folders created in the users location.
Every "unique" folder created is represented.

Basically there are four main folders: Default, InThought, Pauline, and
Public. there are way too many files to send the complete list. I hope this

I have my reservations about Default, but I'll leave that up to the experts.

something I don't have to worry about.

Is there are better way of locating the activity of an account? when
created, etc.?

I've upgraded the computer to Ultimate and went into Local Users and Groups /
computer management and there it is.

The properties for dlbj_IAM's description says "Account for the Lexmark
Print Service components and password never expires, it is not a member of
anything and there is no profile set up.

I'm glad you were able to locate the information for that account. This
sounds like an account that 'runs as a service' which is very unusual. The
only other component on Vista that is set this way is the Trusted Installer
which also is an account that runs as a service.

A 'printer' usually runs this way only if it has been installed for
something like a 'print server' which is usually only required on a
corporate network that has many work stations that use the same printer.

It's a mystery why this account would show up in the Parental Controls
dialog? It is likely caused by some incompatibility between Vista and the
Lexmark driver installer.

You can probably safely ignore this behavior, unless you detect some problem
it may be causing. I would also recommend checking the Lexmark support
website for any information on this behavior.
