hey chaps,
wondering if you could share a few tips and tricks. I've been running
Vista for a a fair few months now and i bloody love it to bits.
Apart from myself, this week i unleashed our first vista machine to one
of our directors, i have had non-stop hassle ever since. I must warn
those for the uninitiated, giving Vista to a standard/power user
status, member of staff is a nightmare when they're constantly
expecting all the things they could previously do in XP.
Of course, we wish to totally make the most of all the locked down
security features available, but i keep having to turn things back on
i'd rather leave off. And it's not like i can argue the certain member
of staff down either as he's a director.
Has anyone some tips as to what i can happily enable for our users
whilst still keeping the security on the pc as tight as possible,
whilst also re-assuring me what i've done so far is or isn't that bad?
What's best practice so far in the enterprise/SMB???
I've had to turn on network browsing, elevate the user to power user
status, and really wanted the UAC prompting turned off, but then Run As
administrator just failed when i tried to install google earth of all
things, previously installable by anyone.
Any tips or links greatly received guys, thanks.
