Unlock my desktop once and for all!

Hi. I locked my desktop by mistake. I know to click my icon or enter my
password to gain access to my desktop, but how do you unlock it once and for
all? I didn't want it locked in the first place. Can any one walk me through
the steps to actually unlock my desktop?

Welcome to the forums!

As far as I know, there's no function to disable the locking button on
your start menu. You can, however, change your screen saver settings so
it doesn't lock your system.

1. Right click any open space on your desktop
2. Click on personalize
3. Click screen saver
4. Select a screen saver or leave it as the default - windows logo
5. In the wait box, make it at least 60 minutes
6. If the box "on resume display logon screen" is checked, uncheck it

That way if you leave your system for a while, the screen saver may
activate, but you'll be returned to the desktop without logging in.

I am assuming that you want to remove the password. Go to the Control Panel,
double-click the User Accounts, and make the changes you desire.

You can lock your computer by:
1. Pressing the Winkey-L keys
2. Clicking on Start, and then on the lock icon on the bottom right
3. have a screensaver set to require logon after resume

Unfortunately when I try to :

The : ''Wait'' box and the ''On resume...'' box is in grey and I am not able
to changed it ?

Do you konw how I can make it accessible.
