I have recently connected a computer to the internet for the first time since
i bought it. When it was new I replaced the integrated video card with a
Radeon 1250 (ATI) video card. I disabled the Intel card. When I connected I
did all the recomended updates and rebooted but then the auto update
downloaded a couple more updates and tried to install a graphics controller
update which was unsuccessfully installed. Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV
Graphics Controller. Do I need this? How do I get rid of it? Windows wants to
keep trying to install it and it's getting annoying.

Ignore the autoupdate notice and go to the Windows update site.
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
Click Custom Install
Uncheck the box for the Graphics Controller
Check the box, "Hide this update"
Exit by clicking "Go to install updates "
