That's probably it. However, the association settings can be fixed by downloading and applying the .zip fix from here:

When I download fonts from the internet to download onto the Windows Vista, I
don't get the option to extract them. Is it possible that it's because I
have notepad as the default program to open them with? Do I need to save
them somewhere special? I'm just saving them on the desktop.
