Update 924615 failed-error code 80242006

I have Windows XP Home & Internet Explorer 7. When I try to download the
update KB942615 it fails and I get the error code 0x80242006. I tried turning
off anti virus and firewall and trying again. But still get error code and
fail. I was also getting 0x80072ee7 but fixed that one.

0x80242006 = SUS_E_UH_INVALIDMETADATA
The caller passed an update with invalid metadata to the handler

I would suggest manually downloading the update(s) in question and try
installing it. It appears the one you tried to install may be corrupt.

You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.

The issue may be caused by the corrupted downloaded installation file. Let's
refer to the following steps:

NOTE: Some third party programs can affect the Windows Update service. If
you are running any third party applications such as Spyblocker, Internet or
web accelerators (programs designed to boost the speed of the Internet
connection), security or anti-virus programs (Norton, McAfee, etc.), I
recommend we temporarily disable or shut them down and then try to access the
Windows Update site later. Please be sure to enable them again when the
update process has been completed.

Download and install the update manually.
