Update Administrator Help

I am running WIN 98SE, and would like to get updates. Every time I log into
the web page, it says that updates have been disabled by my Administrator. I
have no idea how to change this to get the updates. I have searched through
the HELP section, but that is worthless. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!

Another cause for Administrator only message can occur if a program on your computer
is intercepting the Windows Update process.

I highly recommend you install Unofficial Windows 98 SE Service Pack 2.0 RC2

Yes, I did have a nasty virus recently, the "about:blank". I think that
crippled the Update function. I followed all of the suggestions to this
post, and I have been able to get the updates, which will hopefully prevent
me from getting this virus again.

About:blank isn't a virus - it's spyware, and the reason that you got it was
that *you* (or at least someone on your PC) installed it!!

Learn the lesson, or repeat the history - make sure that you know what
you're clicking on!

No amount of updates can protect a user against their own shortcomings.
