Hi,
I have Win XP SP1 Home (French), I had only installed one very critical
update two years ago, then, in order to get access to the SP2, I
installed last night the 32 fixes recommended by the automatic update
installer (30 MB, about 30 minutes). I could list the KB**** numbers if
necessary.
Everything seems ok... but, in the Windows explorer with the "folders"
tab on the left (the usual view in previous versions of Windows), the
icons for folders, hard drives, cd-roms, my documents, etc. have become
approximately 25 or 30% larger ; I have a screen capture of a previous
state of the Windows explorer : the icons were the same size and look on
the left and on the right. Though they are now larger, they have the
same resolution, and the result is it isn't "nice", they look a bit
"blurry" and in some cases it's clear they do not have "enough room" to
fit in their square zone.
I searched a bit and found no solution, but I found at least someone who
experiences the same problem earlier this year :

The few answers he got were useless for me. And I don't know, like him,
which update made that (maybe the cumulative update for IE SP1 ?)
I'd be really willing to find a fix for that, because it is not very
nice. I could change a value in the registry if only I knew where ; I
checked with other user accounts : it looks the same, so probably this
has to do more with "local machine" than "current user", but I found no
"obvious" key in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer
; I also changed to different screen resolutions and DPI, with the same
result (I use 1280*1024 with 120 DPI).
