Update changed account settings?

When I logged into my Vista administrator account this morning all settings
(desktop, favorites, documents, etc) are back to the defaults when I first
installed Vista. The files that normally are used are still on the hard
drive. My account is still passworded and the password has not changed. Any
ideas on why the desktop and other settings are not being read correctly and
how to reset this to work properly? I have not changed any of the settings
and am the only non-restricted account on the computer.

TIA
