Update for Conexant Systems Inc. Modem PCI Softv92

Computer crashes when trying to install above update, have used system
restore OK, but modem update fails to install every time. I have a Mesh PC
with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

In the future get drivers directly from the manufacturers web site and not
from Microsoft.

If the driver comes up as a Critical Update, there is normally a good reason
and you should consider
Getting the driver at that time from the manufacturer.
If the driver is not critical and everything is working fine, do not install
the newer driver
