how to update display names for online contacts in OE

In the contact window of outlook express 6.0, all the msn messenger contacts
show by their onscreen (display) name, but as people change their display
names they do not ever change in the contact window. (they remain as they
were when they were first added). Is there a way to have the names in OE
change as the contacts change them, or a way to periodically clear a cache
somewhere to grab the new dispaly names??

View | Layout | Contacts > uncheck > reboot > recheck
