update error microsoft cant figure

I go to update xp home and get sent to v5 and when I scan for updates I get
Error number: 0x800A0005 I go to try and find what causes this but cant find
anything from microsoft and on top of everything I look under add/remove and
I have a bunch of xp hotfixs for sp2 in there and when I click help in
browser and go to about I get version: 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 and
updated versions are sp1 and the bunch of q files whats whith that?

How are you accessing Windowsupdate V5 site. If you go to Internet Explorer
and select tools then select windows update do you receive this error?
Please confirm your using Internet Explorer to access the Windows Update V5
site.

I am going through the browser I go tools then windows update
