On two different machines now, since last Tuesday's update, all updates
installed except any of the Office updates. There is no explaination when I
try to click on the question mark in the history (on the Update page). No
clues.
But since the other updates installed I have been havingone app after
another crashing when they never did before. The two that crash consistantly
are;
Windows Live Messenger (Crashes whenever bootup and if I try to run it after
boot.)
HP's RecGuard.exe (Crashes upon boot every time)
Other apps that crash inconsistantly are IE6, Word, Outlook, AutoCAD 2007

All these events happen exactly the same on two different machines;
Machine #1
Dell XPS GEN5
Intel Extreme Edition
2GB RAM
100+GB HD avail
NVidia GC

Machine #2
HP dv8000t
Intel CoreDuo 2.2GHz
2GB RAM
47+GB HD Avail
NVidia GC

Steps taken prior to reporting have been CHKDSK, Defrag, DiskDoctor.

Any ideas?
If anyone need additional system info, please let me know

Me again...
I also tried downloading the FullFile versions from MS and when they tried
to install, a message came back that the update could not be applied. No
clues, no hints, no nothing! Bizarre...

Did you check Event Viewer for errors?

Have these PCs recently used a so-called "Registry Cleaner" (for instance,
the one at the Windows Live Safety Center)? If so, your registry might now
be damaged. Can you back up the PC to a System Restore point before use of
the Registry Cleaner?
