update failed.. code 800B0100

I just got this laptop so im still learning but it says I need to update my
secruity but I tried like 3 times and it keeps failing. PLEASEE HELP IF YOU
HAVE A SOLUTION!!

If you're referring to the NET Framework Update released two days ago, take
a look around and join the crowd.

There have been several work-around\solutions offered. Take a look.

for Xp -

1. Try:-
Click Start, select Run, now type in:
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
Press Okay

and/or

2. Try:
Click Start, select Run, now type in:
CMD
(Note this opens the command prompt windows)

Now type in the following (noting to press Enter after each line)

net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
