update fails to download. errorcode 0x80070002

I cannot download the updates for windows udate. I have just reloaded windows
xp but when I go to the udate site it tells me the udates failed to download
with error code 80070002. I deleted the files in the datastore file with no
help.

You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from
Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you see the 0x80070002 or
0x80070003 error

Rename the softwaredistribution folder.
