Update Fails it downloads fine but doesnt install, NO error cod

I've been trying to get some updates from the past week, i'm on a fresh
installed xp so2 machine, the last update i managed to get was
"Herramienta de detección de Microsoft GDI+ (KB873374)"

it shows as ok in the install log, now whenever u try to update
anything, the update downloads as usual, but the when the install should
start "instaling" i get the following error

this will happen for each and any of the downloads , and if i go to the
install log to try and see if theres an error code, the failed install
is not logged

please help with this, ive had this issues with other machines , some
with sp1 some with sp2
the only thing in comon is that we use Stylexp (latest version compatible
with sp2) to modify uxtheme.dll and being able to install 3rd party visual
styles, but ive tryed uninstalling and doing "SFC/ SCANNOW" and
thenupdating and nothing happens, so i guess its not that
