Update Hangs On Download - BITS Won't Start

I can't get Windows Update to download the files... I've cleared the caches,
done all the trouble shooters, etc, and searched and tried all the fixes in
the knowledge base I could find at least...

I think I have it traced to the failure of BITS, that I can't get to start
no matter what I do... I have specific errors pasted below... first from the
event log, and then from the windows update log files... theses errors just
keep repeating... I know this is a ton of stuff, but any ideas on how to get
this fixed ????? THANKS !!!!

Please try this:

Click Start then select Run and type in:

regsvr32.exe wintrust.dll
regsvr32.exe initpki.dll
regsvr32.exe softpub.dll
regsvr32.exe cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32.exe mssip32.dll


Press OK after each one

You may need to restart the computer after running the commands above.
