Hi

I have installed Vista Ultimate, how do I run update to look for supporting
software for my hardware.

When I run update it only looks for Microsoft related updates not drivers
etc for hardware.

thanks

You check with the hardware manufacturers' web site.

MS is the last place to look for updated drivers

Hi,

Never look there

Unless you love blue screens with error reporting or your computer rebooting
which is set stuppidly standard in XP: restart the computer when an error
occurs.

Best regards,
Michel Denie

First of all, thanks Tom, DL and Michael for your input.

BUT, the hardware manufacturer does not have a driver
for Vista on their site.

It was suggested that I use Windows Update, which i always did with XP and
while they did not carry all driver uopdates, the ones they did worked well.

And I still do not know how to get Update to work properly in Vista.

cheers

Hi,

Welcome,

You can wait for the manufacturer to release the needed Vista driver or just
try the Win XP driver.

I assume your hardware components are Vista compatible, if not you might
want to change the hardware in issue since the manufacturer does not give
the appropiate driver support.

Best regards,
Michel Denie
