For some strange reason Windows update has recently decided it will be my
home page on my browser IE6 and regarless of what I do to change it back to
google.ca it always opens to Windows update. It shows quite clearly in
Internet options that my selected home page is google.ca but still update is
what opens whenever I open the browser. This only happened in the last 2-3
weeks. Does Anyone have any idea how to change this?

Windows version?

IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing > Automatically check for
IE updates: Is this checked?

Even after unchecking it, options in several third-party applications may
disallow the change. These include Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or
Antispyware, and recent versions of Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

Win Xp pro version 5.1.
I have zone alarm, adaware, NAV, spybot and spy blaster. I have had them all
a long time without apparent conflict but this change is recent. IE updates
was checked and is now unchecked.
When I opened the browser it went right to MS.com windows update, no change.

Check with Zone Alarm, Symantec, and/or Spybot support, please. One or more
of them is disallowing the change.
